Today's Apartment Pick: Morningside Heights

We loved this two-bedroom, W. 121st St. co-op, with beautiful views of Morningside Park and quick proximity to the many choices of cute restaurants along Amsterdam. (We live in the area and often go to Max Soha for dinner or Kitchenette for brunch.) The interior looks pretty spacious based on the floor plan and has original details, oak-panelling and high ceilings. The maintenance is slightly high for the area -- but, of course, a good deal compared to downtown apartments. Both the 116th and 125th 1-trains are close-by and provide a quick commute to midtown, and being on Columbia's doorstep means that property values are secure.

We just saw a one-bedroom in Brooklyn's Prospect Heights in the 400k-range that needed total rehab and would take you twice the time to get to Times Square.

Has anyone been inside?

I saw this place listed a couple of years ago and
thought it would be a great deal. Asking price
was 100k less! I actually bought a 2 bedroom
a few blocks north for the better price.
Since this place is move in ready, should be
a great deal for a first time home buyer that wants
more space. After you look into downtown apartments and the lack of square footage, you
will definitely consider this area.

The living room is absolutely marvelous - the woodwork - need I say more? Do the bedrooms and the hallways have this craftmanship as well?

take a look at the corcoran link
and it will get you to the website with
the listing. just click on the numbers
under the photos an you will see that
there is woodwork around the doors
but not all the paneling in the living
room. Kitchen looks huge!
It's overlooking the park so there are some
nice pictures included.
